In a move that signifies a leap forward in robotics research, Sharpa, a robotics firm based in Singapore, has teamed up with Nvidia and Unitree, a Chinese manufacturer of humanoid robots, to create an innovative humanoid robot platform. The collaboration was announced by Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, during his keynote speech at the Computex technology conference in Taipei. Set to be available to researchers by late 2026, this platform aims to enhance the development of AI systems that can perform intricate manual tasks.

The centerpiece of this new venture is the Nvidia Isaac GR00T H2 Plus humanoid robot, which integrates the advanced features of Sharpa’s robotic hands, Unitree’s H2 humanoid body, and Nvidia’s AI computing power. Sharpa’s hands are designed with 22 degrees of freedom, closely mimicking the dexterity and tactile sensitivity of human hands. This sophisticated design allows the robot to tackle tasks that require precision and fine motor skills, such as those found in precision manufacturing, healthcare, and food preparation.

In addition to the hardware developments, the project promises to provide researchers with access to Nvidia’s suite of AI models, simulation tools, and an expansive software development ecosystem.
