During an official visit to Male, Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of State, engaged in discussions with Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. This visit coincided with the commemorative events for the 61st anniversary of the Maldives’ independence, underscoring the enduring diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives.
Prince Mansour’s presence at the independence celebrations highlighted the robust bilateral relationship shared by the two nations. His participation in the events demonstrated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening its friendly relations with the Maldives, a sentiment echoed during his meeting with President Muizzu.
Upon his arrival at Velana International Airport, Prince Mansour was greeted by a welcoming committee that included Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel and Mohamed Naseer, the Principal Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations. This reception underscored the importance the Maldives places on its relationship with Saudi Arabia, reflected in the high-level officials who were present to welcome the Saudi prince.
Also part of the welcoming delegation was Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani.
